    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Assistant Facilities Manager helps the Construction Project Manager (Manager) to execute remodeling or facilities improvement projects of existing warehouses including coordination with operations and warehouse facilities team. The Assistant Facilities Manager oversees the functioning of building systems - hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, fire and refrigeration facilities and performs coordination and/or monitoring of general repairs and maintenance of the same with warehouse facilities teams. The Assistant Facilities Manager provides the warehouse facilities teams with technical support and advice for remodeling, facilities improvement, repair and maintenance.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Construction of remodeling or facilities improvement projects
      • To help coordinate and assist in the project with particular emphasis on construction and equipment to provide for an efficient and operational warehouse
      • Project management
        • To help coordinate between Regional Office and consultants, contractor and equipment vendors
        • To monitor project construction progress
        • To update the Manager on construction schedule progress
        • To help manage, control and monitor project costs during all phases of a project including tender and change order control
        • To control service quality of vendors related to design, construction and maintenance
      • Existing warehouse maintenance
        • To develop and monitor energy efficient schemes at warehouse level to reduce maintenance costs
        • To monitor warehouse maintenance for efficient building operations
        • To monitor regular PM of all existing warehouses: fire safety certification, HVAC, refrigeration
        • To provide the warehouse facilities team with technical support and advice

     

    EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
    • Mechanical engineer qualification or trade experience preferable
    • Knowledge of commercial building systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire, electrical and refrigeration) advantageous
    • The ability to read/work construction drawings
    • Good in written and verbal English language skills required
    • Must be flexible and able to provide effective management in a transitional, ever-changing environment
    • Prepared to travel to warehouse locations when necessary
